THIS EPISODE Mike meets up with Garmin-Sharp’s gentleman racer and patron of the peloton, David Millar, at the Tour of Alberta to share a few cocktails and discuss everything from when it’s time to call it a day (Spoiler: retirement plans are revealed) and what the future holds, to the desperate need to please people vs. proving something to yourself, and how that affects your racing. They explore the balance between fame and self-indulgence, caring about what people think and say about you on social media, interacting (or not) with fans, and the addictive nature and ego trip of Twitter. Creed learns the proper pronunciation of “Millar,” shames David into following him on Twitter again, and we’re treated to a live nature break on air.
Enjoy this fascinating conversation between two very different – and yet similarly stylish – and intelligent cyclists.

Why, oh why is David Millar given such lofty accolades when he is just another dirty doper who was caught out cheating the very system that employed him. Bitch and moan about how he’s reformed, such a good example, etc, etc, but he is what he is, and I have no respect for him….well, no more respect for him than any other rider that was lucky enough not to get caught. I’m not fussed by the doping scandals, it is not good for the sport, but it was definitely widespread, but to think he is almost making himself out to be a selfless martyr is cringeworthy. Maybe concentrate on those who were open about their refusal to not dope when you want to applaud anti-doping cyclists, rather than a guy who would have still been at it if it weren’t for “bad luck”
